Fiancé Visa UK – Bring Your Partner to the UK to Marry

The UK Fiancé Visa allows the fiancé, fiancée or proposed civil partner of a British citizen or settled person to enter the United Kingdom for the purpose of marriage or civil partnership.

The visa is normally granted for six months. During this period the couple must marry or enter into a civil partnership before applying for further leave as a spouse or civil partner.

Who Can Apply For A UK Fiancé Visa?

To qualify, the applicant and sponsor must demonstrate that their relationship is genuine and subsisting and that they genuinely intend to marry within six months of arrival in the UK.

British Sponsor

The sponsor must normally be a British citizen, settled person, person with ILR or another eligible sponsor under Appendix FM.

Genuine Relationship

Evidence must demonstrate that the relationship is genuine, ongoing and that both parties intend to live together permanently after marriage.

Intention To Marry

The couple must genuinely intend to marry or enter a civil partnership within six months of entry.
