Skilled Worker Visa Extension
Skilled Worker Visa Extension Criteria
To qualify for a Skilled Worker Visa extension, you must adhere to the following criteria:
- Maintain the same job as when you initially obtained permission to enter or remain in the UK.
- Ensure that your job corresponds to the same occupation code as when you were first granted permission to enter or stay in the UK.
- Continue employment with the same sponsoring employer who issued your current Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Moreover, you must reconfirm your eligibility by satisfying the original Skilled Worker Visa requirements, which entail obtaining a new Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), meeting the requisite salary for your role, demonstrating adequate maintenance funds, and proving your proficiency in the English language.
Skilled Worker Visa Extension Processing Time
Typically, the Home Office takes approximately 8 weeks to render a decision on your application. However, in some instances, this process may extend beyond the usual timeframe for various reasons, including:
- Verification of supporting documents.
- Possible requirement to attend an interview.
- Personal circumstances, such as a criminal conviction, that need examination.
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) will reach out if they need additional information after you’ve submitted your application.
For those with time constraints, expedited decisions are available for a fee using the Home Office’s priority service. The Priority Service, priced at £500, yields a decision within 5 working days. The Super Priority Service, costing £800, provides a decision within one working day for weekday appointments or within two working days for weekend appointments.
